Have a Great Christmas!

Firstly, I’d like to wish all Social Web Thing readers a Happy Christmas and thank you all for continuing to read and comment on the blog.

2010 has been a good year for me, personally and SWT – the blog has gone from strength to strength, winning an award at the EUPRERA Spring Symposium, as well as being nominated for ‘best blog’ at the some comms and CRAPPs. For something which started as a hobby, I find it remarkable and humbling to see how the blog has evolved over the past 15 months – and SWT looks set to surpass 30,000 views in 2010, which is very pleasing.

What’s also been a source of much pride is that some SWT posts have been published on the Edelman Digital blog – as someone who was and still is an avid reader of the blog, it has been a real privilege to be able to share my thoughts with a much wider audience.

Upon reflection, I’ve learnt a tremendous amount from some great people in 2010 and have been delighted to work with some of the worlds biggest brands. The optimist in me, thinks 2011 will be just as good as 2010, although I expect for different reasons.

Secondly, working in social media is often about trend spotting and trying to predict the ‘next big thing’, so I’ll put my head on the block and make some predictions – I’d be interested to hear yours too.

Be remembered for geo-location going semi-mainstream
See hyperlocal and super-niche continue to grow
See another paywall

2011 will not…
See social media Whitewalling becomeing widespread
See us any closer to the Rusbridger Cross
